This is an appeal from a judgment of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York (Charles E. Stewart, Judge) 1 rendered in an action brought under the Federal Tort Claims Act (“FTCA”), 28 U.S.C. §§ 2671-2680 (1982) 2 to redress injuries caused by defendant. Plaintiffs contend that two damage awards rendered by the district court are grossly inadequate, and that the trial court should have awarded damages for Neil Rufino’s loss of the normal pursuits and pleasures of life.
