Alton Levern Brunson has appealed his conviction after a bench trial in the Pulaski County Circuit Court on the charges of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and felony possession of a controlled substance (cocaine). Appellant argues that the police officer who searched his person without a warrant lacked probable cause to believe that he had committed a felony, thereby making his arrest and search unlawful, and appellant contends that the trial court erred by denying his motion to suppress the evidence obtained from the search.
