Originally tried in September 1977, the appellant was convicted on his plea of guilty of violating Article 123a of the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), 10 U.S.C. § 923a (1976), by unlawfully making, uttering and delivering worthless checks with intent to defraud (Specifications 1-6) or intent to deceive (Specification 7).
