OPINION
STRANCH, Circuit Judge.
Joseph Coles, an Ohio inmate, appeals the district court’s denial of his petition for a writ of habeas corpus under 28 U.S.C. § 2254. Coles was convicted by a jury on 43 counts of rape stemming from the sexual abuse of his step-daughter, S.D., between January 8, 2001 and July 5, 2004, when S.D. was over the age of thirteen.
