People v. Hawkins
Appellate Court of Illinois
1Opinion of the CourtJustice McLAREN
Defendant, Mary Elizabeth Hawkins, appeals from the trial court’s denial of her petition to rescind the statutory summary suspension of her driving privilege pursuant to section 11 — 501.1 of the Illinois Vehicle Code (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1989, ch. 951/2, par. 11 — 501.1). Defendant’s sole appellate contention is that it was against the manifest weight of the evidence for the trial court to grant the State’s motion for a directed finding that the arresting officer had probable cause to arrest defendant for driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI). We affirm.
