COLLINGS, Justice.
George King brought this suit against Jack Moberley, Sheriff of Shackelford County, and Dave Reeves, Sheriff of Jones County. King alleged that the defendants falsely accused him of having committed felony theft, and that they without permission searched his pickup and premises for stolen property. He sought actual damages in the sum of $5,000 and an additional $5,000 exemplary damages.
