The plaintiff brought suit in the civil district court for the parish of Orleans, in which it alleged that it was the sole and only owner of one pair of solitaire diamond earrings 3y2 carats weight, less Vs 2 of a carat, valued at the sum of $502.97, and also another pair of solitaire diamond earrings valued at the sum of $975, making a total of $1,477.97; that on or about the 13th *1015day of March, 1906, and on or about the 4th day of April, 1906, petitioner delivered the above-mentioned earrings, respectively, to Louis Moss, a resident of New Orleans, for his temporary use, but petitioner did…
