The defendant, Nathaniel D. Reeves, appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after a trial to the court, of unlawful restraint in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § SSa-95 1 and assault in the third degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-61 (a) (l). 2 The defendant also was charged, in a part B information, with being a persistent offender of assault under General Statutes § 53a-40d. After the trial court’s finding of guilty, as to the substantive offenses, the defendant pleaded guilty to the charge of being a persistent offender. On appeal,…
