I. Introduction
Plaintiffs AstraZeneca LP and AstraZeneca AB (“AstraZeneca” or “Plaintiffs”) are pharmaceutical companies who develop new and innovative drugs and treatment methods. Defendants Apotex, Inc. and Apotex Corp. (“Apotex” or “Defendants”) are pharmaceutical companies who manufacture generic versions of brand name drugs. At issue in this case is AstraZeneca’s PULMICORT RESPULES, a once-daily inhaled corticosteroid used in the treatment of pediatric asthma.
