This consolidated appeal originated in Knox County, with defendants, William and Brett Villarreal, being charged with various counts of resisting and obstructing peace officers, and multiple counts of aggravated battery, arising out of several police officers’ attempt to make an arrest of a third person. Defendants filed consolidated motions to quash their arrests and dismiss all charges against them. The trial court determined that defendants’ fourth amendment rights had been violated; therefore, it granted their motions, dismissed all charges, and denied the State’s motion to reconsider.…
