The defendants are owners of real estate in Pottawattamie county, holding under conveyances from that county, which describe the several tracts as lots 1, 2, 3, and 4 in section 22, township 76, range 44. The title of the county upon which was based the conveyances to defendants and their grantors was derived from the state and its title came from the general government. In 1857 the United States government'caused to be made a survey of the lands in section 22, and in other sections adjacent and connecting.
