In 2014, plaintiff-counter-defehdant-ap-pellee Spencer Meyer downloaded onto his smartphone a software application offered by defendant-counter-claimant-appellant Uber Technologies, Inc. (“Uber”), a technology company that operates, among other things, a ride-hailing service, Meyer then registered for an Uber account with his smartphone.
