Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Rensselaer County (Sheridan, J.), rendered April 9, 1997, upon a verdict convict*1018ing defendant of the crimes of robbery in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

Defendant was being tried before County Court on charges of robbery in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
