COOKS, Judge.

Defendant, Jimmie Lee Watson, Sr., was charged with distributing cocaine in violation of La.R.S. 40:967(A)(1) by grand jury indictment. He was found guilty on May 21, 1991. Defendant then filed motions for a new trial and for post verdict judgment. The State also filed an habitual offender bill against the defendant. Prior to hearing on the motions and bill, defendant’s court-appointed trial attorney was replaced by another counsel. Defendant’s motions and the State’s bill were both heard on December 12, 1991.
