E. E. Conant, tax assessor and collector of tbe fourth taxation division, an officer appointed by tbe treasurer of tbe Territory and under bond to him, appointed one of tbe plaintiffs in error, W. A. Wrigbt, deputy assessor-and collector for tbe district of Wairnea in said division and, in pursuance of statutory requirement, exacted from bim a bond for tbe faithful performance of bis duties.
