The plaintiff/appellant has sued the defendant/appellee, his employer, for loss of benefits due to the alleged failure of the defendant to procure, as agreed, coverage for him under a group insurance policy providing, among other things, accidental benefits to its beneficiaries, and available for “All officers and full-time Salaried and Commissioned Employees” of the defendant. 1 Under the terms of the group policy, a covered employee was entitled to recover half the principal sum, (i. e., $50,000) for the “entire and irrecoverable loss of sight” of “one eye” due…
