Charles Thorpe and Charlena Williams (Appellants) filed a civil action against G. Laycock, Inc. (Laycock). The case was assigned to Judge Cynthia Wright. Laycock made a motion to compel arbitration, which Appellants opposed. After the hearing, Appellants sent to Judge Wright a proposed certificate of immediate review for her signature in the event that she ordered arbitration. On March 28, 2001, Judge Wright granted the motion to compel arbitration, but did not sign or file the certificate.
