OPINION

MIKE WILLSON, Justice.

The jury convicted Thomas Raymond Sennett of the offense of sexual assault of a child by intentionally or knowingly causing the penetration of KC.’s sexual organ by inserting his penis into her vagina. 1 K.C. is Appellant’s deaf niece, who was fifteen years old at the time of the assault. Appellant was twenty-five years old at the time of the offense. When Appellant first went to trial, the case ended in a mistrial.
