Defendant, Rory F. Atkins, appeals the judgment of conviction entered upon a jury verdict finding him guilty of attempted escape. He asserts that the trial court denied his right to a speedy trial and that it committed instructional error. ’ We affirm.

The information here was filed on June 21, 1990, and defendant was arraigned and pleaded not guilty on August 28, 1990. At that time, trial was set to commence on January 14, 1991, a date well within the six-month period set by § 18-1^105(1), C.R.S. (1986 Repl.Vol. 8B) for bringing a defendant to trial.
