This is a petition for a writ of habeas corpus to admit the petitioner to bail pending trial.
On December 25, 1974, petitioner was arrested for the murder of Robert Eastland, alias Marion Jones. He made a written confession the same evening. At a hearing held to determine whether he should be released pending trial, the hearing judge, relying primarily on the confession, stated “the proof of guilt is clear” and determined that petitioner could be denied bail consistently with art.
