The respondent is appealing from the termination of her parental rights regarding her son, K, pursuant to General Statutes § 17-43a (a). K was born in 1975 and was committed to the custody of the commissioner of the department of children and youth services (DCYS) in October, 1978. See General Statutes § 46b-129.
