State v. Jesse
Oregon Supreme Court
1Opinion of the CourtBrewer, J.
The decision of the Court of Appeals is reversed. The judgment of the circuit court is affirmed.
BREWER, J.
The issue on review following defendant’s conviction for first-degree sexual abuse is whether the trial court erred in excluding from evidence at trial, on the ground that it was not helpful to the jury, expert testimony that defendant proffered in support of his theory that certain statements that he had made were not, in fact, actual confessions of guilt. OEC 702. Because we conclude that the trial court did not err in excluding the proffered testimony, we affirm defendant’s conviction.
