COFFIN, Chief Judge.
Defendant was convicted under 18 U. S.C. § 2314 (“Transportation of stolen goods, securities ... ”). This appeal presents a single question of statutory interpretation: did Congress intend in paragraph three of that section to encompass by the phrase “falsely made, forged, altered, or counterfeited securities” a valid check with a forged countersignature? Though a question of first impression in this circuit, the Second, Eighth, Ninth and Tenth Circuits have held that Congress did not so intend. 1 We agree with the analysis of those courts and reverse appellant’s…
