This cause is now before the court upon an application to “superintend and revise, in matter of law,” a certain decree of the United States district court for the Western district of North Carolina, and the real question presented is whether said court has jurisdiction in equity to entertain a bill to set aside and annul a biU of sale for a stock of goods made by the bankrupt, W. H. Gilbert, to the petitioners here, three days before the petition of involuntary bankruptcy was filed against him by his creditors, and on account of which bill of sale he was adjudged a…
