This action was commenced by the plaintiff, a resident and citizen of the state of South Carolina, against the defendant J. S. Jackson, a resident and citizen of the state of South Carolina, and the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, a corporation duly organized and existing under the laws of the state of Arizona, for the recovery of damages for personal injury alleged to have been sustained by the plaintiff while in the employ of the defendant corporation in its store at Hartsville, S.
