Defendant Peter Edelbacher appeals from a judgment of death under the 1978 death penalty law following his conviction on a jury verdict of the first degree murder (Pen. Code, §§ 187-189; all further references are to the Penal Code unless otherwise stated) of Lela SchwartzEdelbacher (Lela), with special circumstance findings that the murder was intentional and carried out for financial gain (§ 190.2, subd.
