WILLIAMS, Circuit Judge.

Rodger Thornton, an inmate in the Illinois Department of Corrections, filed a civil rights action alleging that prison officials violated his right to be free from cruel and unusual punishment. The district court granted summary judgment in the defendants’ favor on his cell conditions claims but allowed a claim concerning yard exercise privileges to continue.
