This suit was brought to recover damages for personal injuries, alleged to have been sustained by Mrs. H. E. Whitcomb while riding as a passenger on defendant’s street bus. The Court of Civil Appeals affirmed a judgment for the plaintiff for $5;000.00. See 153 S. W. (2d) 527.

There was evidence that when Mrs. Whitcomb attempted to alight from the defendant’s street bus the motorman started the bus with a sudden jerk, throwing Mrs. Whitcomb backward, across a metal bar or handrail, and severely injuring her about the head and other parts of her body.
