The State Highway Board of Georgia filed petitions in the superior courts of Telfair and Jeff Davis counties, for the condemnation of certain lands for a right of way for a State-aid road and for material to be used in constructing and building the road. The record shows that the principal object of the condemnation proceedings was to procure a bridge site across the Ocmulgee river, with abutments therefor and approaches thereto. The lands sought to be condemned on both sides of the river were jointly owned by J. Clyde Willcox and I. L. Cook, hereinafter called defendants. The parties agreed…
