The issue before us in this appeal is whether, under section 216.1 (a) of the Uniform Rules for Trial Courts (22 NYCRR 216.1 [a]), the motion court had good cause to seal and keep from public disclosure a set of exhibits submitted by plaintiff in opposition to a motion to dismiss the complaint. Defendants-respondents moved to seal the documents, alleging that they contained confidential business information, were improperly obtained by plaintiff and were irrelevant to the action.
