This is an action instituted in the district court by Marsene Johnson against the Galveston Tribune, a corporation owning and publishing a newspaper of that name in the city of Galveston, for damages growing out of .certain libelous statements published in said newspaper of and concerning plaintiff. In addition to general ■ damages alleged to be $50,000, plaintiff claimed special damages on the ground that said publication had injured him in his business of attorney at law, and also, on the ground that the said libelous publication had been made with actual and express malice, claimed…
