The defendant Compass Bank petitions for a writ of mandamus directing Judge William J. Wynn of the Jefferson County Circuit Court to set aside his order compelling broad discovery in this case. We grant the writ.

In 1993, Tarif Qanadilo purchased two variable annuity policies through Compass Bank. The policies were named "Franklin Valuemark II variable annuity" and were a product of Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America.
