■ This suit was brought in the circuit court of Shelby county by the plaintiffs to enforce a lien for materials furnished to one M. J. Galliger, who was then under contract with defendant, Loeb, for the erection of a *253dwelling house upon a certain lot in the city of Mem.phis, the plaintiffs claiming that they had given due notice to the said Loeb, and that the materials were used in the erection of the house, and that there was due to them the sum of $1,542, and that this was a lien upon the property.
