OPINION OF THE COURT

Stein, J.

On this appeal, we are asked to determine whether the People proffered a sufficient foundation at trial to authenticate *474a photograph — purportedly of defendant holding a firearm and money — that was obtained from an Internet profile page allegedly belonging to defendant. We conclude that the People’s proof fell short of establishing the requisite authentication to render the photograph admissible in evidence.
