Haupt was indicted for the offense of larceny after a trust. The indictment contained several counts, each of them charging that the accused had “been entrusted by the Duffy Street Baptist Church, a corporation under the laws” of this State, with a certain sum of money, the property of the corporation named, “for the purpose of applying the same for the use and benefit” of the corporation; and that he wrongfully and fraudulently converted the same to his own use, contrary to the laws of the State.
