After a jury trial, defendant, Roger Hood, was convicted of murder (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 38, par. 9 — 1(a)(2)) and armed robbery (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 38, par. 18 — 2(a)). He was sentenced to 32 years’ imprisonment.
