This is an appeal from defendant’s conviction by a jury of the offense of armed robbery in violation of section 18—2 of the Criminal Code (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1971, ch. 38, sec. 18—2) and from a sentence of 5 to 8 years. The co-defendant in the case, William Smith, was acquitted by the same jury.
