OPINION

LUONGO, District Judge.

John Mathis, a citizen of New Jersey, filed the complaint in this defamation action on March 24, 1977. Complaint ¶ 1. Jurisdiction is based solely on diversity of citizenship. 28 U.S.C. § 1332(a) (1976). The complaint names as defendants the publishers of two Philadelphia newspapers, the Daily News and the Evening Bulletin, as well as three television stations.
