These consolidated appeals grow out of an attempted robbery of the Columbia Federal Savings and Loan Association at 2000 L Street, N. W., on September 20, 1974, which resulted in the killing of Metropolitan Policewoman Gail Cobb. Stated briefly, appellants and their codefendants set out, heavily armed on the morning of September 20 to commit a bank robbery which they had planned carefully over a period of several days.
