The defendant, Duane Banks, appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after a jury trial, of robbery in the first degree in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-134 (a) (4) and 53a-8, conspiracy to commit robbery in the first degree in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-48 (a) and 53a-134 (a) (4) and robbery in the third degree in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-136 and 53a-136a.1 On appeal, the defendant claims that the court improperly (1) admitted into evidence statements he made to the police, (2) admitted evidence of his prior convictions of robbery and…
