This case was commenced by information fded by the attorney general of New Jersey, in tbo court of chancery of that *10state, praying for an injunction to restrain the defendants from erecting a bridge across Arthur kill, between New Jersey and Staten island, in the state of New York, upon the lands of the state situate on the shore, and under the waters of said kill. The chancellor granted a preliminary injunction upon the bill and affidavits.
