This cause, which involves the condemnation of underground strata for gas storage purposes, was originally appealed to the Supreme Court of the State of Illinois. The Supreme Court, on March 10,1965, caused this action to be transferred to this court and, in so doing, observed that it was argued that the ruling excluding evidence of special value of the land for gas storage purposes deprived the landowners of due process of law and also violated the constitutional provision that private property shall not be taken for public use without just compensation.
