As a result of the recovery by police of drugs and drug paraphernalia from his college residence, defendant was indicted on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree (three counts), criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree (three counts), criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and criminally using drug paraphernalia in the second degree (two counts).
