H. B. McGuire entered into a written contract with the Osage Oil Corporation to drill for the corporation a test well for oil and gas to a depth of 3,300 feet, unless oil or gas in paying quantities should be discovered at a shallower depth, and to furnish the derrick, rig, tools, water, machinery, fuel tanks, and all labor necessary to the completion of the well on the D.C. Clayton farm, being a part of the Lewis Knight survey in Jack county.
