On February 26, 1900, defendant Edna L. Baxter, by a judgment of the Circuit Court for Baker County in the case of Edna L. Baxter v. Julia ' E. Sherman, was awarded possession of the east one third of the two lots which judgment was entered upon stipulation and was intended to be an assignment of dower. Mrs. Baxter took possession of the property in April, 1900, and at first constructed a small dwelling of two rooms and in later years, after purchasing it at a sale for taxes for the year 1899, erected a substantial residence of the value of about $3,000; made street improvements and…
