BRIGHT, Circuit Judge.
Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company and two affiliated British insurance companies, referred to here collectively as Fireman’s Fund, issued fire and extended coverage insurance policies on a discount-type department store building located on U. S. Highway 40 near Collinsville, Illinois. United Stores of America, Inc. (United Stores), the occupant and lessee of the premises, procured the policies in its name as the insured. The policies also contained a loss payable clause running to Mercantile Trust Company National Association (Mercantile) and a standard mortgage clause.1…
