This has been one of the longest contested pro*547bates ever before this court. The contest has been so close, the various points of law have been so ably argued by counsel and the testimonial evidence is of such great volume as to require a somewhat detailed opinion from the surrogate.

Cornelius H. Van Ness, the alleged testator, when a very old man made the papers propounded in favor of his third wife, now here as proponent.
