The collision involved herein occurred about 2:45 a.m. on April 5, 1948. United States Highway 2 is a concrete highway twenty feet wide with dirt shoulders six to to eight feet in width. It has a center line and runs in a general easterly and westerly direction between the cities of Ashland and Hurley, Wisconsin. The dirt driveway, about ten feet in width, of the Eino Aho farm intersects at right angles with Highway 2 from the south.
