This multidistrict litigation concerns the patent rights for rivastigmine tartrate (“ri*72vastigmine”), the active ingredient in Exelon, a medication marketed by Novartis Pharmaceutical Corporation (“NPC”) for the treatment of mild to moderate dementia of the Alzheimer’s type.
