This appeal arose from the petition, filed by petitioner, Rapid Settlements, Ltd., pursuant to the Structured Settlement Protection Act (Act) (215 ILCS 153/1 et seq. (West 2004)), for court approval of a transfer of a portion of Mary Foreman’s structured settlement payment rights. Respondents, Symetra Life Insurance Company and Symetra Assigned Benefits Service Company (Symetra, collectively), the annuity issuer and the structured settlement obligor, respectively, filed an objection to the petition for approval.
